Founded in 1912 in Kerala, The Mundakayam Club is a traditional, exclusive plantation club serving its members and their guests in Mundakayam East, Idukki District. Its history is closely associated with J.J. Murphy, known as the founder of the club and a pioneer of rubber planting in India. With more than a century of heritage, the club combines historic character with facilities for recreation, dining and events.
Members and guests can use two tennis courts, one clay and one hard, and take part in the club’s annual All Kerala Veterans Tournament. Other sporting facilities include an indoor badminton court, table tennis and a historic JW Roberts snooker table. The club also offers two executive double rooms with private patios overlooking plantations, a library containing rare and historic books, and a multi-cuisine restaurant, with takeaway and bulk orders available.
For meetings and celebrations, facilities include a conference hall equipped with sound and projection systems, as well as a party area.
