Musée Courbet

Musée Courbet is a cultural institution dedicated to Gustave Courbet and the artistic and local heritage of Ornans and the surrounding region. Its website introduces visitors to “Courbet country,” with information about the artist, the museum’s history and collections, and the area’s landscapes and ethnological heritage. Visitors can explore the museum’s collections online and learn about temporary exhibitions presented at the museum and at the Ferme Courbet in Flagey.

The Courbet site also encompasses the artist’s family farm, its history, gardens and landscapes, and the Courbet trails, which invite visitors to discover the region on foot. Beyond exhibitions, the institution offers a varied cultural programme, including activities, workshops and concerts, with an agenda available online. Practical visitor information, online ticketing, press resources and newsletter sign-up are also provided. The museum is located at Place Robert Fernier in Ornans, while the Ferme Courbet is on Grande Rue in Flagey. Together, these venues connect art, place and public engagement through exhibitions, heritage interpretation and cultural activities.
