About Musée d'Impression
The Musée de l’Impression sur Étoffes (MISE) is an association-run museum in Mulhouse, France, founded in 1955 and recognized as a Musée de France. Combining decorative and industrial arts, technical history, and local heritage, it explores the art and history of printed textiles in Mulhouse and around the world. Its varied collections include fabrics, graphic arts, archives, sample books, industrial machines and equipment, ethnographic objects, and decorative arts.
Visitors can discover textiles from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries, including indiennes, as well as temporary exhibitions that connect the museum’s historic holdings with contemporary creativity. The MISE preserves, restores, and documents its collections, while sharing this heritage through exhibitions and educational activities. Its programs include workshops, school visits, and group experiences, and the museum also offers a shop, event planning, private venue hire, and related services.
By inviting contemporary artists and designers to engage with its collections, the museum highlights the continuing relevance of textile printing
