Musée McCord Stewart Museum

The McCord Stewart Museum is a Montreal-based social history museum with more than a century of experience documenting the city, its influence in Canada and beyond, and the people and communities that shape it. It cares for six collections containing 3. 2 million images, objects, documents and works of art, making it a major museum resource in North America.

Through exhibitions, educational programs, cultural events and civic activities, the Museum explores social history and contemporary issues with a critical, inclusive perspective. Its programming includes family activities, Indigenous cultures, talks, workshops and guided visits. Visitors can also explore online collections, the EncycloModeQC resource, and the Museum’s archives and documentation centre.

The Museum offers memberships, event calendars, opportunities to support its work through donations and volunteering, and photographic services. Committed to decolonization and sustainable museum practices, it seeks to amplify community voices and encourage action toward a more just society. Located on unceded Kanien’kehá:ka territory known as Tiohtià:ke, it recognizes its responsibility to support awareness of Indigenous cultures and their continued vitality
