About Museo Andino
Museo Andino is a renowned brand in the field of culture and art preservation. Established in 2005 by Ricardo Claro Valdés, the Museo Andino is a result of his vision to research, develop, and promote the rich cultural heritage and art. With a mission to maintain a museum accessible to the public, the foundation received valuable archaeological, historical, and artistic collections from its founder.
Thanks to the initiative taken under the Law of Cultural Donations, the Museo Andino was inaugurated in January 2006. It showcases the testimonies of the indigenous peoples who have lived and continue to live in the Chilean territory. The museum not only values their contributions to the country's cultural diversity but also recognizes these expressions as crucial components of their memory and identity.
Aside from sustaining the museum, the Foundation engages in various cultural outreach programs, with a particular focus on music, heritage, and art. Located at Camino Padre Hurtado, Alto Jahuel, Comuna de Buin, Región Metropolitana, the Museo Andino welcomes visitors from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm, with free admission.
