Museo Judío Béjar

The David Melul Jewish Museum in Béjar, Salamanca, is a cultural institution dedicated to knowledge and public understanding of Judaism and Jewish heritage. Its story begins with the presence of the first Jewish communities in Béjar and the surrounding region, then extends to the wider Sephardic world and its history through to the present day. The museum’s collection and exhibitions explore Jewish life, history and traditions, including the experiences of Jews in Béjar and the stories associated with the Béjar and Bejarano families.

Alongside its permanent museum content, it shares news and organises cultural activities, talks and other public programmes. Recent initiatives have included a summer programme and events focused on Jewish heritage, as well as an exhibition about the journeys of the Jewish people, loaned by the National Library of Israel through the Network of Spanish Jewish Quarters. The museum also supports research, education and outreach through publications, books and informational resources
