The South Tyrol Museum of Natural Science in Bolzano introduces visitors to the region’s natural world through exhibitions, research and public programmes. Its permanent exhibition explores South Tyrol’s geology and biology, while temporary and special exhibitions offer changing topics to discover. The museum also hosts events, themed tours, lectures and conferences, with activities for schools and resources through its digital museum.

Research and the preservation of significant collections are central to the museum’s work. Visitors can learn about its research areas and explore publications, including monographs on the flora and fauna of South Tyrol. Digital offerings include videos and online events, extending access beyond the galleries.

The museum is located at Via Bottai 1 in Bolzano and is open Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., including public holidays except January 1, May 1 and December 25. Its website provides practical information for planning a visit, as well as event listings, contact details and a monthly newsletter featuring museum updates and Alpine wildlife news.
