Museo Navigante is an innovative initiative dedicated to the promotion of Italy's maritime museums and seafaring heritage. Supported by the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage, it aims to enhance awareness and appreciation for maritime culture through a network of 75 affiliated maritime museums across Italy. Central to its mission is the historic vessel, the Oloferne, which undertakes journeys to connect communities with their maritime history.

Notably, in 2018, the Oloferne undertook an extensive voyage covering over 2,000 nautical miles, promoting cultural engagement in 27 Italian cities. In 2019, it expanded its reach to Slovenian and Croatian maritime museums, fostering transnational partnerships and the conservation of traditional boats. Museo Navigante engages schools and local populations with educational programs and storytelling, emphasizing the rich narratives of life at sea, historic vessels, and maritime traditions. Even amid the challenges posed by the pandemic, Museo Navigante remains committed to its mission, continuing to share and advocate for maritime culture through social outreach.
