About Museum of the Home
The Museum of the Home is a brand that offers a unique experience for children and families, centered around discovery and learning. Their Discovery Garden provides a space for children and families to explore and engage with environmental issues, wildlife, and sustainability. Located on the Museum grounds, the garden is being co-developed with input from two local primary schools, ensuring that it meets the needs of the community.
This three-year project focuses on soil health, seasonal planting, biodiversity, sustainable food production, ecology, urban wildlife, and healthy living. By involving ecologists, garden designers, and artists, the Museum aims to create a space that not only educates but also improves the mental and physical well-being of visitors and participants. The Discovery Garden is particularly important in the context of its urban surroundings, where access to green spaces is limited.
By providing this sanctuary, the Museum hopes to increase access to arts and heritage in the area while fostering a strong sense of connection and ownership among local families and children. The Museum of the Home is grateful for the support from various organizations, including UBS, the Art Fund, Museum Development London, the Lennox Hannay Charitable Trust, and the Loveday Charitable Trust, in making the Discovery Garden project possible
