About Museum van de Geest
We are the Museum of the Mind. We are fascinated by the artwork within your mind because nothing is as colorful, powerful, and vulnerable as the human mind. In the Museum of the Mind | Haarlem, located in the monumental Dolhuys, you will encounter various artworks that will make you reflect on stigmas and the importance of mental health.
What is normal and what is strange? Should we, as humans, change or should we change our ideas about what is strange and normal? In 2022, we won the European Museum of the Year Award. In the Museum of the Mind | Amsterdam, located in H'Art Museum, you will discover Outsider Art. This original art form is created by individuals who are outsiders to the art world and often to society as well.
Through their work, they express their inner world without concerning themselves with what the outside world thinks. We aim to be interactive, inclusive, and somewhat activist. Join us on this journey of exploration and understanding the human mind
