As an official member of the Union, musicians, both formally employed and self-employed, gain representation and access to a host of benefits. The Union's primary goal is to advocate for the increase in employment opportunities and income for local musicians.

They achieve this by offering personalized advice, support, and legal assistance to each individual member. The Executive Committee, elected by regular members, is responsible for managing the Union and working towards its objectives and development, all while ensuring compliance with the country's laws and regulations. Founded by Ahmed Shihab, Nishfa Nashid, and Mahrn Majid, the Musicians’ Union of Maldives is committed to the success and welfare of its members.
