Musici e Sbandieratori del Magistrato dei Quartieri A.P.S. is a historic performance group from Piazza Armerina, Sicily, founded in 2001 in connection with the Palio dei Normanni, the city’s annual medieval festival. Its members bring local history and tradition to life through music, flag throwing and processions. The group includes drum and trumpet sections, flag bearers, and a procession of costumed participants and standard-bearers. Dressed in the city’s white and red colours and carrying the combined emblem of its four historic quarters, the performers present energetic choreography, musical arrangements and dramatic displays.
The association trains throughout the year, developing new routines and refining its distinctive style, guided by discipline, elegance and a commitment to improvement. It performs at the Palio dei Normanni, held each August, and is available for events and historical celebrations in Sicily, elsewhere in Italy and abroad. Its experience includes appearances in Malta and award-winning performances, including two Mediterranean championship titles.
