About Mut
Museo della Tonnara di Stintino, known as MuT, is a museum in Stintino, in north-western Sardinia, dedicated to the history and heritage of the Saline tuna fishery. Set in a place shaped by the sea and the movement of tuna through the Mediterranean, the museum tells the story of the people whose lives were connected to the tonnara. Its interpretation explores migration, the demanding work of fishing, and the passion and traditions of the crews, preserving memories of both the community and its relationship with the sea.
MuT offers visitors an opportunity to discover the past of the Saline fishery through its museum displays and exhibitions. The museum also hosts cultural events and shares news about its programme, including art exhibitions and initiatives focused on local heritage.
