Muungano wa Wanavijiji is a Kenyan federation of slum dwellers that aims to create inclusive cities where low-income communities have access to adequate housing and essential services, allowing them to live in dignity. The alliance consists of three organizations working together: Muungano wa Wanavijiji, a social movement representing slum dwellers; Akiba Mashinani Trust, a fund supporting urban poor communities; and SDI Kenya, an NGO providing professional and technical support. Their mission is to improve and integrate slums into the urban landscape, advocating for changes in practice and policy at the national level.

Muungano actively engages with partners in academia, government, and civil society to deliver tangible improvements to people's lives. They believe that slum communities should be at the forefront of city and national development, challenging the notion that they are passive recipients of development initiatives. With a central office in Nairobi, Muungano wa Wanavijiji is affiliated with SDI, the largest grassroots movement globally.
