Múzeumok Éjszakája is an annual cultural event that brings museums, galleries and other cultural venues together for one night of exploration across Hungary. With hundreds of participating institutions and thousands of programs in cities and communities throughout the country, it invites visitors to discover collections, stories and creative experiences in a lively, shared setting. The 2026 event is scheduled for June 20, with Sopron featured as a highlighted location and gastronomy as a central theme.

Programs span permanent and temporary exhibitions, guided tours, talks, films, performances, music, dance, children’s activities, creative workshops and food-related experiences. The event’s website helps visitors plan with searchable listings by museum, city, county, date, time and program type. An EVENT@HAND MUZEJ mobile app is also promoted for attendees.

Tickets cost 3,000 HUF for adults and 1,500 HUF for children aged 6–18; children under six enter free. Purchased wristbands are valid on the event day at participating Budapest museums listed on the website. The event is organized by Hungary’s Ministry responsible for social relations and culture.
