The Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority (MVCA) is a conservation organization serving the watersheds of the Carp, Mississippi and Ottawa rivers. Its work focuses on managing water-related risks, conserving natural resources and supporting environmental stewardship. MVCA provides information and services for property owners, municipalities and the wider community, including development and permit guidance, septic approvals, planning advisory services, floodplain mapping and property inquiry tools. Its water management resources include water-level and flow updates, flood status information, a dashboard and guidance on regulations and shoreline matters.

MVCA also manages conservation areas and offers opportunities for outdoor recreation, education and community participation. Visitors can explore hiking, paddling, camping and other activities, while facilities and annual passes support access to selected sites. Education programs, watershed monitoring, citizen science, planting initiatives and drinking water source protection help connect people with local ecosystems. The authority also undertakes watershed planning, climate change work, dam and flood hazard projects, and stewardship programs.
