About Mountain Weather
The Mountain Weather Information Service (MWIS) provides mountain weather forecasts designed to support safer decisions in the UK’s upland areas. Its forecasts cover ten regions across Scotland, England and Wales, including the Highlands, Cairngorms, Lake District, Peak District and Eryri/Snowdonia. Written by professional meteorologists, the forecasts offer detailed, accessible guidance for both novice and experienced mountain users.
