About MXAK
Marine Exchange of Alaska (MXAK) is a non-profit organization with a mission to ensure safe and responsible maritime operations. Established in 2001, MXAK is dedicated to saving lives, protecting the environment, and preventing maritime disasters. With cutting-edge technology and extensive experience, MXAK has developed a robust maritime safety network.
They operate over 60 weather stations and the most comprehensive vessel tracking system in Alaska, consisting of over 150 Automatic Identification System (AIS) receivers strategically positioned across the state. This data is made available through their customizable display system, PacTracs, providing mariners with accurate information for informed decision-making. MXAK's 24/7 Vessel Tracking Monitoring Center monitors live AIS data and works closely with vessel owners/operators, OSROs, and the U.
S. Coast Guard to enhance situational awareness and assist in rescue missions. Additionally, MXAK offers services such as regulatory compliance, chart printing, and historical data reports.
