My9albums is an online tool for creating and sharing a personal poster of the nine albums that have shaped your musical taste. Users can search a catalog of more than two million albums, select nine records, and arrange them in their preferred order. The poster can be customized with a name or social handle, an optional caption, and a choice of background styles. Users can also choose whether to display album and artist names. When the design is ready, it can be downloaded for sharing in a social media feed or story.
The service is free to use and requires no account. Collections are saved in the user’s browser. My9albums also features a “Most picked” list of albums that appear frequently in posters created on the site, including Radiohead’s OK Computer, Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon, and Nirvana’s Nevermind. Album data comes from MusicBrainz, while cover images are provided by the Cover Art Archive. The site also links to my9films, a related tool for selecting nine films.
