American Family Child Care Association is a Boston-based organization that helps family child care providers build and strengthen their businesses. Its approach centers on practical guidance, professional development, and resources that help providers navigate the demands of operating a child care program. The association offers support with EEC licensing and renewals, license non-compliance, and grant applications; it reports helping providers access more than $1 million in grant funding. Other business services include monthly bookkeeping, website creation, and guidance through the homebuying process for those purchasing or expanding a family child care home.

Providers can also access program assessments and observations, including support with an Individual Professional Development Plan, the Arnett Interaction Scale, the Family Child Care Rating Scale, and the Business Administration Scale. Training, online resources, and membership benefits further support providers’ learning and professional growth. Based in Boston, the association serves as a resource for family child care professionals seeking help with business administration, program quality, and development.
