About MycoMine AB
MycoMine is a Swedish start-up that is passionate about sustainability and using innovative technology to turn waste into life. Our team of diverse co-founders, with expertise in research, art, and economics, is united by our fascination with fungi. We harness the power of MycoMining, where fungi extract, precipitate, and decompose elements, to offer cost-effective and sustainable biological solutions.
By applying nature's wisdom, we aim to tackle urgent environmental issues and save the planet. Our journey has been filled with achievements, including the discovery of oil-degrading fungi with encapsulation abilities, leading to the concept of using fungi as bio-microtreatment plants. We have won the prestigious Skapa prize in Stockholm for our innovative MycoCube and have been accelerated by two esteemed start-up accelerators, Sting and Produktionsänglar.
We are also proud to have installed our first scaled-up fungal-based treatment plant in Ytterby mine, achieving remarkable capacity with 98% hydrocarbon degradation.
