Kirsty’s Queens is a community initiative created by Kirsty to support research into children’s brain tumours. After being diagnosed with a brain tumour and experiencing surgery and chemotherapy, Kirsty is seeking kinder, more effective treatments for children. Her goal is to bring together 500 people, known as Queens, who make regular donations of any amount to research selected by OSCAR’s Paediatric Brain Tumour Charity. The site says donations are spent on research, with findings shared internationally to benefit children worldwide.
Supporters can become a Queen through a secure monthly donation form or make a one-off contribution via JustGiving. The site also features Kirsty’s Map, where people can add their name and approximate location to show support; Kirsties and friends can participate, and optional donations are available. Visitors can read Kirsty’s story and her parent’s account, explore the map, and receive occasional progress emails if they choose. Updates share Kirsty’s experiences, the growing community, and research news.
