Hayward South Alameda County NAACP is a nonprofit organization serving Hayward, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Dublin, Union City, and Fremont. Established in 1950, the branch works to address inequality and community needs through advocacy, civic engagement, criminal justice initiatives, and local programs. Its activities are grounded in the belief that collective action can help communities overcome shared challenges.

The organization supports students through its Genius tutoring program, offering assistance in subjects including math, English, science, and history, as well as reading and writing. It also offers the Carolee Perrich Scholarship, with awards of up to $5,000 per year, and shares application information for eligible students. Community members can attend monthly general membership meetings to learn about current work and volunteer opportunities.

The branch hosts complaint nights to help people access resources for potential discrimination and employment disputes, and promotes free online record-dismissal clinics for qualifying Alameda County convictions. Through its programs, events, and community partnerships, Hayward South Alameda County NAACP invites residents to get involved and stay informed.
