About NAAPIMHA
NAAPIMHA, the National Asian American Pacific Islander Mental Health Association, is dedicated to promoting the mental health and well-being of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders. With a strong belief in social justice, NAAPIMHA focuses on issues such as suicide prevention among youth, empowering mental health consumers, and ensuring access to high-quality and affordable mental health services for all. The organization achieves its goals through various means, including developing a national network called NAAPIEN, collaborating with community-based organizations, providing technical assistance and training to service providers, advocating for policies that benefit AANHPI communities, and engaging with high school and college students.
NAAPIMHA also develops mental health fact sheets in multiple languages to reach diverse populations. With a dedicated team, including Executive Director Dr. DJ Ida, Deputy Director Krystle Canare, and Director of Programming Allyson Goto, NAAPIMHA continues its mission to address mental health disparities and promote equity within AANHPI communities
