NABU RV Finsterwalde

NABU Regionalverband Finsterwalde is a local conservation organization serving Finsterwalde and the surrounding Sängerstadt region. Its work focuses on protecting nature and wildlife while helping residents discover and take part in regional conservation. The association organizes guided walks, nature excursions, mushroom outings, birdwatching activities, and public events that introduce participants to local habitats and species.

It also encourages community involvement in wildlife monitoring, including crane observations in the Naturparadies Grünhaus and bird-counting campaigns such as the Hours of Garden and Winter Birds. Members and volunteers contribute directly to practical conservation projects, including planting trees and shrubs to help transform pine plantations into mixed woodland. The regional group shares event calendars, conservation news, contact information, and guidance for people interested in supporting its work.

Visitors can learn how to assist native beetles and wild bees, join work parties, become members, or make donations. NABU Finsterwalde also offers a cargo bicycle rental service, extending its community-focused activities beyond education and habitat care
