NABU Horb e. V. is a local nature conservation association based in Horb am Neckar and part of the NABU Baden-Württemberg regional organization.
Its roots date to 1903, when a bird protection group was established in Horb; the association was re-founded as the German Association for Bird Protection in 1968 and today works under the NABU name. The group supports nature and wildlife conservation through practical activities, including landscape management, local conservation projects, and work in protected areas such as the Kugler Hang nature reserve. Its own Naturschutzhaus Horb, opened in 1998 on Weingasse, provides a base for the association’s varied activities.
The organization also shares information about local species and habitats, including birds, insects, and native plants, and reports on projects such as the installation of a bat information stele between Horb and Mühlen. NABU Horb invites residents to get involved by volunteering, becoming members, or donating to projects in Horb. Its website provides information about its goals, program, protected areas, events, and ways to participate
