Nabu-Leimen-Nusslochs

NABU Leimen-Nußloch is a local group of Germany’s Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union, dedicated to protecting nature and wildlife in Leimen, Nußloch and the surrounding region. Founded in 1981, the group works to preserve valuable habitats and provide safe places for plants and animals in a densely populated area. Its activities include maintaining a nature garden with a pond, dry-stone walls, an orchard meadow and native hedges, as well as organizing habitat-care projects and environmental education for children and adults.

The group also raises awareness through seasonal events, information displays and publications, including a guide to Nußloch’s protected natural areas. Current initiatives include a community swallow survey, which invites residents to report sightings and nests so that support such as nesting aids can be targeted. NABU Leimen-Nußloch shares conservation information and takes positions on local environmental planning.
