NABU Leverkusen

NABU Leverkusen is a dedicated branch of the Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union, active since 1976 in promoting environmental and nature protection in the Leverkusen area. Committed to the preservation of local flora and fauna, NABU Leverkusen focuses on conserving natural habitats amidst the urban development that often threatens these resources. They provide expert advice to both policymakers and residents on environmental topics, encouraging community involvement in various eco-friendly initiatives.

The organization engages in the maintenance of old orchards, meadows, and green spaces, while also promoting sustainable practices through projects that include planting wildflower meadows and supporting bird conservation efforts. Regular activities involve monitoring local bird populations and creating opportunities for the community to participate in nature experiences. Through informative campaigns and collaborative actions, NABU Leverkusen aims to enhance the natural beauty and biodiversity of the city, inviting volunteers and donations to further their mission of protecting nature for both wildlife and residents alike.
