NABU Willich is the local group of the Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU), a German nature conservation organization that encourages people to work together to protect the natural world. The group focuses on Willich and shares information about its conservation work, local wildlife and ways to help preserve habitats and species for future generations.

Its activities include nature projects such as protecting the threatened lapwing and supporting kestrels and little owls. NABU Willich also offers natural history excursions, giving participants opportunities to observe local plants and animals, and invites residents to join monthly meetings and volunteer efforts. The group promotes environmental awareness through initiatives such as a wild bee house and an exhibition about the dangers of litter to wildlife. Its website also provides nature education resources, including a bird-identification tool, and information about the Eva-Lorenz Environmental Station and NABU Station Willich. Visitors can find local news, events, children’s groups, practical guidance on what to do when they find an animal, and ways to donate or get involved.
