About Nacoa
Nacoa UK, the National Association for Children of Alcoholics, supports everyone affected by a parent’s drinking. The organisation highlights that one in five people in the UK are affected, and aims to help them feel less alone through accessible, confidential support and practical information.
Its free helpline is available to listen, offer help without judgement and provide support for as long as callers need it. People can also contact the helpline by email, use instant chat, or connect with others through online message boards. Nacoa’s advice and resources are tailored for children, young people, adults, concerned relatives and professionals. The website also shares personal experiences, research, news and events.
Supporters can contribute through one-off or regular donations, membership, volunteering, fundraising and awareness activities. Nacoa explains how donations help fund information packs for professionals, phone support and training for volunteer helpline counsellors. Members receive invitations to events and the annual general meeting, can have a say in the organisation’s management, and receive a Nacoa T-shirt.
