About National Commission for Social Action
NaCSA is a semi-autonomous government agency that complements the efforts of social sector ministries and local authorities in providing essential services to underserved communities nationwide. Governed by a diverse Board of Directors, NaCSA's mandate is to implement social relief programs and facilitate community-driven sustainable development projects to combat poverty and enhance the efficacy of developmental initiatives. Their vision is to be a leading institution in pro-poor service delivery and project governance, ensuring citizen engagement and inclusive development benefits.
NaCSA operates nationally, with headquarters in Freetown and district offices in all 14 regions. Established in 1996 in response to the civil war crisis, NaCSA has evolved to manage post-conflict reconstruction, resettlement, and rehabilitation efforts, funded through grants and loans from partners like the World Bank and Islamic Development Bank.
