About NACWA
The National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) is a national association representing public clean water utilities across the United States. For more than 55 years, it has advocated for the sector on legislative, regulatory, legal and communications issues, helping utilities protect public health, support affordable services and build a resilient, sustainable clean water future. NACWA also provides technical resources and a network where water leaders can exchange practices and expertise.
The association’s work spans infrastructure funding and affordability, smarter regulation, enforcement, innovation, climate resilience, stormwater, nutrients, biosolids and emerging concerns such as PFAS. It advocates for federal funding and financing tools, including municipal bonds and public-private partnerships, and promotes policies that address pollution while recognizing the responsibilities and limits of public utilities. NACWA also offers member resources, advocacy updates, publications, communications tools, recognition programs and professional development. Its conferences, seminars and training cover legal challenges, pretreatment requirements and utility leadership.
