Švejcarův nadační fond dětem Karlov is a Czech charitable foundation established in 1994 by doctors at the Clinic of Paediatrics and Inherited Metabolic Disorders (KPDPM). It was created in honour of Professor Josef Švejcar, whose professional career included work at the former Foundling Hospital, now part of the Karlov Children’s Campus. In 1999, the organisation became a foundation fund under updated legislation.
The fund supports KPDPM and seeks to strengthen both the professional quality and the human dimension of care for children. Its priorities include improving rehabilitation, social integration, dietary options and employment opportunities for chronically ill children. It also works to make conditions better for children and accompanying parents during outpatient visits and stays in inpatient wards.
Rather than offering commercial products, the foundation provides a way for individuals and organisations to contribute to these aims through donations and sponsorship. It publishes information for supporters, including annual reports, and shares stories about its work.
