Nafasi Sawa

Nafasi Sawa Kinderstiftung is a Swiss children’s foundation supporting orphaned and partially orphaned children in Kombewa, in Kenya’s Kisumu region. Its name means “equal opportunity” in Swahili, reflecting its commitment to helping children continue their education after primary school and build a path beyond poverty and dependency. The foundation aims to provide a caring, supportive community where children can feel secure while pursuing their studies.

Its work focuses on enabling access to secondary education and meeting practical needs. Donations can help pay for school uniforms and learning materials, teachers’ salaries, and a child’s school support, including two meals a day. The foundation also welcomes contributions toward school construction and essential infrastructure, such as a 10,000-litre water tank. Supporters may make one-time or regular donations, and the foundation provides donation confirmations for tax purposes. Alongside its fundraising, Nafasi Sawa shares reports about its work and promotes “Art for Kenya,” inviting people to learn more about its projects and support educational opportunities for children.
