NAFD

The National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) is the largest and most inclusive representative body for the UK funeral profession, established in 1905. With a membership of over 3,800 funeral homes, ranging from independent family businesses to large cooperatives and major groups, the NAFD is dedicated to supporting its members in delivering high standards of care for the deceased and their families. The organization emphasizes the importance of professional ethics through its Funeral Director Code and offers comprehensive training programs aimed at enhancing service quality.

In addition to guiding funeral directors, the NAFD serves as a trusted advisor to government bodies, shaping policy across the UK. It provides vital resources for bereaved consumers, ensuring they have the information necessary to choose a compassionate and experienced funeral director. The association hosts key events, including the biennial National Funeral Exhibition, and promotes environmental responsibility, reinforcing its commitment to progressive and trustworthy practices within the funeral sector.
