Rylo

Rylo is a communication technology brand focused on helping people who are Deaf or hard of hearing connect with greater confidence and independence. Its FCC-certified call captioning app is offered free to individuals with hearing loss and displays spoken words as readable text in real time, making phone conversations easier to follow. Users can keep their existing phone number or choose a new one, and reply by speaking or typing. Rylo also offers Live Transcribe, which captions conversations and sounds in the world around users, plus Rylo Desktop.

The app includes features designed to personalize and support communication, such as adjustable caption styles, speech tone and pace controls, quick replies, speaker and sentiment cues, and support for more than 50 languages with automatic language detection. Transcripts are saved locally on the user’s device, and Rylo states that calls are private. The service can work with hearing aids, cochlear implants, and Bluetooth headsets, and includes spam and profanity filters.
