About NAHNOO
NAHNOO is a non-profit organization in Lebanon that aims to create an inclusive society through research, capacity building, and advocacy for participatory public policy-making. The organization was founded by a group of diverse students at the Lebanese University in 2003 who felt that sectarian political parties had taken over student life, leading to a fragmented campus environment. NAHNOO, meaning us in Arabic, started as a student-run club and later became an official non-profit organization in 2009.
Today, NAHNOO focuses on three main areas of intervention: Public Spaces, Good Governance, and Arts & Cultural Heritage. Through various programs and projects, NAHNOO advocates for equity, transparency, rule of law, and accountability in public institutions. They challenge the existing sectarian system, improve transparency at the municipal and governmental levels, and protect public spaces and cultural heritage.
NAHNOO's dedicated team of youth volunteers drives their advocacy efforts, utilizing multidisciplinary research, training, and grassroots activities. They believe in a participatory and methodical approach, using scientific methodology in all their advocacy campaigns. NAHNOO strives towards an inclusive society in Lebanon and has become a key reference for advocacy both nationally and internationally
