The North Alabama Zoological Society (NALZS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and conservation of wildlife in North Alabama. With the aim of ensuring that animals will be around for many generations to come, NALZS is actively engaged in conservation and education activities in the community. NALZS also collaborates with a group that shares their vision for an Alabama aquarium, further strengthening their efforts. As a registered State of Alabama Nonprofit Corporation with IRS 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt Status, NALZS is governed by an unpaid Board of Directors and run by a volunteer corporate staff. They rely on the support and generosity of their loyal supporters through financial and in-kind gifts, which are tax deductible.
