About Nambe Trading Post
The Nambe Trading Post is a historic trading post in New Mexico that offers a unique shopping experience for intrepid explorers. Recently restored, this 75-year-old trading post, curated by Emmy award-winning costumer Cathy Smith, brings back the charm and authenticity of the past. The trading post boasts a collection of rare treasures, including costumes and props from iconic Western films like Dances with Wolves.
These movie costumes, handpicked by Smith, accentuate the collection of Navajo weavings, pueblo pottery, Zuni katsinas, and old pawn jewelry. Visitors can also find fine jewelry, paintings, and micaceous cookware created by local artists. In addition to shopping, the Nambe Trading Post offers classes in beadwork, moccasin making, pueblo pottery, and bow making.
