Named Homes is a U.S.-focused service dedicated to preserving the tradition of naming distinguished estates. It maintains the National Registry of Distinguished Named Homes, where eligible properties receive a formally recorded identity intended to reflect their character, history, or location. Registry applications are limited to bespoke, custom-built, single-family estates rather than homes in mass-produced developments.
Named Homes reviews applications through a two-tier verification process. Its curation team assesses whether a property is a unique architectural build and checks the proposed name against its database to confirm that it is not already registered in the applicant’s state or territory. Approved homes are entered into the Registry, which the organization says is compiled and copyrighted annually in Washington, D.C. Owners receive an archival-grade certificate by secure mail. Registration is described as transferable to future owners when the property changes hands, subject to an administrative processing fee.
The brand also offers a gallery and editorial content about named homes and estate identity.
