Nancy Belknap

Nancy Belknap is a licensed California counselor whose private practice in Santa Barbara provides compassionate, client-centered therapy for individuals and families. With more than 25 years of clinical experience in private practice and treatment settings, she specializes in substance use and addiction, trauma, family and relationship concerns, grief, anxiety, self-esteem, and life transitions. Her services include family and relational therapy, which helps clients address challenges affecting family well-being and build healthier patterns of communication and support.

Substance abuse therapy may draw on approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, family therapy, and relapse prevention. Nancy also works with Intensive Outpatient Programs to support relapse prevention. Her collaborative approach incorporates mindfulness and is tailored to each person’s or family’s circumstances, with an emphasis on recognizing strengths and developing sustainable solutions.

Nancy holds degrees in Art History, Philosophy, Theology, and Addiction Counseling, and is an affiliate member of the Santa Barbara Chapter of CAMFT. Her practice is located on Chapala Street in Santa Barbara
