The Network of African National Human Rights Institutions (NANHRI) is a not-for-profit- regional umbrella organization that brings together 44 National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) in Africa. Founded in 2007, NANHRI is registered under Kenyan laws as an independent legal entity. Its Secretariat is hosted by the Kenya National Commission for Human Rights in Nairobi. The Network works towards the establishment and strengthening of NHRIs in Africa. It provides capacity building and facilitates coordination and cooperation amongst NHRIs by linking them with other key human rights actors at the regional and international levels.

About Network of African National Human Rights Institutions
NANHRI is a regional umbrella organization that brings together national human rights institutions from across Africa. With 46 member institutions, NANHRI has been operating since 2007, aiming to enhance human rights and justice on the African continent. The NANHRI Secretariat is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
NANHRI offers a range of products and services to support its mission of establishing and strengthening national human rights institutions in line with the Paris Principles. Their areas of intervention include business and human rights, sustainable development, torture decriminalization, defending human rights defenders, accreditation and Paris Principles, equality and non-discrimination, rights of persons living with disabilities, and sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression. They also provide general capacity building of NHRIs and support the implementation of regional commitments.
NANHRI organizes events and webinars to facilitate knowledge exchange and collaboration among members. Their resource center, photo gallery, and Africa Human Rights Database provide valuable information and tools for human rights advocacy. NANHRI is committed to transparency, accountability, integrity, professionalism, and non-discrimination in all their work.
