NanoFab is a brand that aims to serve as a centralized source of knowledge related to micro- and nanofabrication. They address the current issue of limited knowledge sharing in this field by publishing the notes and observations that researchers make in their daily work but often do not share. They believe that we can learn as much from our failures as we can from our successes.

By publishing reports documenting failures and other tests of a process flow, NanoFab sheds more light on the 'whys' and 'hows' of nanofabrication. This not only provides greater background information for new researchers but also saves time and resources for researchers and inspires new collaborations across different institutions and groups. NanoFab accepts submissions in various formats and publishes them in an open access repository.

Each article is given a DOI for easy citation and can be tagged and filtered for easy searchability. They also provide a comments section for readers to share their own experiences and feedback. NanoFabNet was founded in February 2019 by Prof. Tobias Kippenberg and Mohammad Bereyhi and is funded by EPFL's Open Science initiative. They collaborate with cleanrooms, universities, and research institutes.
