NANPS

Welcome to the North American Native Plant Society (NANPS), a brand committed to preserving native plant habitat in wild areas and restoring indigenous flora to developed areas. Since our founding in 1985, NANPS has been at the forefront of conservation efforts. We offer a wide range of products and services to support our mission.

Our annual Plant Sale at the Toronto Botanical Garden is a highlight of the year, where you can find a diverse selection of native plants. Our Native Plant Database provides valuable information on how to start gardening with native plants, along with helpful tips. For those interested in commercial growing, we offer resources and guidance on seed collecting.

Conservation is a core focus for us, and we own two conservation properties: Shining Tree Woods in southern Ontario and Zinkan Cove on the Bruce Peninsula. These areas are home to rare flora and fauna, and we take pride in protecting them. We also publish a quarterly magazine called Blazing Star, showcasing the beauty and importance of native plants.

Additionally, we host events, excursions, and workshops, providing opportunities for education and engagement. Get involved with NANPS by becoming a member, volunteering, or making a donation. Together, we can make a difference in preserving our native plant heritage
