NARGS

The North American Rock Garden Society (NARGS) is a community of gardeners and plant enthusiasts dedicated to studying, conserving, and cultivating plants from a wide range of habitats. Its interests span high alpine environments, woodlands, bogs, and deserts, including vulnerable ecosystems and the distinctive plants they support. NARGS welcomes people who share a deep interest in gardening and the natural world.

The society supports members through educational resources, publications, events, and local chapters. Its Rock Garden Quarterly features articles and plant profiles, while the online video library offers talks on rock gardening, alpine botanicals, and ecological design. Members can also explore plant and book features, archived forums, and practical resources on propagation and garden design. NARGS organizes virtual study days, tours, speakers, and member events, and runs a seed exchange that connects gardeners with seeds and information. The society also offers grants, awards, and membership benefits, including expert gardening articles, member-only events, and discounts.
