Althistorische Narrenzunft Narrhalla Hechingen e.V. is a traditional carnival society based in Hechingen, Germany, with a history spanning more than 145 years. The association celebrates local Fasnet customs through lively processions, festivities and distinctive costumed groups, bringing together tradition, humor and community spirit.
Its characters include the Pestmännle and black Butzen, drawn from a local legend; the colorful, bell-wearing Schalksnarren, who carry on the tradition of playful jesters; and the masked “Alten,” known for teasing interactions with the public. On Lumpenmontag, groups of men dressed as “Lumpen” take to the streets with provisions and instruments, accompanied by the society’s Lumpenmusik.
