NASCH

NASCH is a UK charity that has promoted swimming for people with disabilities since its founding at Woburn Abbey in 1965. It supports participation in swimming for recreation, fitness and competition, recognising the independence and freedom people can experience in the water. Through 47 affiliated clubs, NASCH helps swimmers of different ages and abilities find opportunities to take part in a welcoming club environment.

The association provides services for members of affiliated clubs, including free regional and national swimming galas, subsidised public liability insurance and an annual general meeting where club members can contribute. Its Distance Award Scheme recognises achievements from 10 to 1,500 metres, while Water Skills Awards help swimmers build water confidence and develop their abilities. NASCH also organises Woodlarks, an annual week-long group camp featuring swimming in an outdoor heated pool. Members can read association and club news, meeting minutes and gala results in the NASCH Yearbook. The organisation additionally publishes a quarterly newsletter and offers branded swim caps, bottles, mugs and polo shirts through its shop.
