ナシエ

Nashie is an Osaka-based illustrator and author whose work brings an upbeat, cheerful style to children, women, and families. Working across a wide range of fields, she creates illustrations, characters, picture books, and comic essays for books, magazines, educational materials, textbooks, and advertising. Her clients include publishers and organizations such as Gakken, Shogakukan, Kodansha, Benesse, and NHK. Nashie works digitally and by hand, using tools including Adobe Photoshop, acrylic gouache, and colored pencils; finished work is generally delivered as digital data.

Her interest in Nordic countries has inspired four published books, including a guide to appealing towns in Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. Alongside her illustration and publishing work, she holds talks and workshops about Nordic culture, including sessions painting traditional Swedish Dala horses. She also sells original goods and runs a monthly children’s art class. Nashie began her freelance career in Osaka, spent 14 years in Tokyo, and returned to Osaka in 2019.
