The National Bail Out is a Black-led collective dedicated to ending pretrial detention and mass incarceration. We bail out Black Mamas and caregivers, providing fellowship and employment opportunities for growth. Our mission is to support ongoing bail reform efforts, creating resources for advocates.
Tens of thousands suffer pretrial incarceration due to inability to afford bail, disproportionately affecting Black and LGBTQ communities. Our work focuses on liberating people through bail outs, advocacy, and leadership development led by impacted communities. This year, our priorities include bail outs for Motherβs Day, building a political community, and thought leadership.
Our diverse staff, led by directors Tatiana, Tia, and Yabsera, is dedicated to self-determination and human rights. We work with advisory committees and past contributors to drive change and advocate for those impacted by the criminal justice system
