About National Cancer Center
National Cancer Center (NCC) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1953 to advance cancer research and education. For more than 70 years, it has provided financial support to researchers pursuing innovative approaches to understanding, preventing, diagnosing, and treating cancer. In 2026, NCC reported funding more than $426,000 in new and renewed grants, bringing its cumulative research funding to over $9.74 million.
The organization supports research through fellowships and grants across six focus areas: aggressive cancers, breast cancer, childhood leukemia, early childhood cancer, prostate cancer, and broader investigations through the NCC Project. Its funding helps researchers explore topics including cancer biology, genetic factors, immunotherapy, early detection, treatment resistance, and targeted therapies. NCC also supports postdoctoral scientists at universities and research institutions across the United States, helping develop the next generation of cancer researchers.
Alongside research funding, NCC provides public education on cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, and shares news and updates about cancer research.
